Best Pub Grub In London Fab English Traditional Dishes of Exceptional Value & Quality.
My review of this hidden gem of a pub tucked away in an oasis of calm just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross was overdue by about ten years! and is so worth seeking out.
Part of its charm is that to my recollection the decor has remained virtually unchanged since at least the 1990s when I first encountered Mc Glynns when I still worked in the rail industry at Bounds Green Depot.
I just love the setting and the location, which tends to attract mainly local people, and even when busy is not the usual jam packed atmosphere of some pubs.
In the last ten years or so I have occasionally had one of the excellent pub meals, this for sure will now become more frequent. I so need to work my way round the entire menu!
On 27th June 2019 I arranged to meet my cousin Richard who I last met in 2012 during the Olympics and suggested this pub, I so wanted an excuse to eat here again!
The meal was to die for. We both opted for Cumberland Sausages, mash, peas, fried onions with gravy DELICIOUS. Then for puddings ( one was not enough! ) I had lovely apple crumble with custard followed by a delicious naughty but very nice New York cheesecake, with three scoops of ice-cream. There is nothing to be home cooked traditional ENGLISH food, which is more often quite a novelty these days.
Just a few minutes walk from Kings Cross station I seriously recommend Mc Glynns great value food served with a smile in a proper traditional pub.

Food service has been discontinued for the time being. This is a lovely pub for a pint. They pour Guiness all day so the cask stays fresh. Some good dry cider is available as well.
Traditional Irish pub in downtown London. Kind servers, good beer and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Cool place to 'check in'!
